The DoLS Team

The Surrey County Council, Adult Social Care, MCA/DOLS team consists of Specialist Practitioners, experienced Best Interest Assessors (BIA’s) and administrative staff. The team provides training and professional casework advice relating to the MCA as well as providing the council's Supervisory Body function under the DOLS provision of the MCA. In addition to the centrally based specialist BIA’s, we also have a ‘pool’ of BIAs located across Hospital and Locality Teams who undertake best interest assessments on a rota basis.
