The DoLS Team

The Surrey County Council, Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships MCA and DOLS Team consists of a Senior Manager, Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager, Senior Practitioner Leads, experienced Best Interest Assessors (BIAs), DoLs Coordinators and specially trained administrative staff. The team provides training and professional casework advice relating to the Mental Capacity Act 2005, as well as managing the Council's Supervisory Body function under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards provision of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. In addition to the centrally based specialist Best Interest Assessors, we also have a "pool" of Best Interest Assessors located across the Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships Directorate, who undertake best interest assessments on a rota basis.
